Our animal hospital regularly uses in-house lab equipment to analyze blood, stool, urine, and tissue samples. Along with routine, comprehensive testing to assess your pet’s overall health, we can also perform more urgent medical tests to guide us in treating an illness or injury.

Sending Out Bloodwork

Best Friends Veterinary Hospital can do in-house diagnostics if your pet's levels need to be evaluated the same day. From a routine wellness standpoint, we can get more information at a discounted cost by sending your pet's samples to our reference laboratory.

Digital Radiography

Our digital X-ray machine gives us the ability to visualize the musculoskeletal system and major internal organs for abnormal changes. This might include a broken bone, an inflamed joint, a limb deformity, tumors, foreign bodies, and other issues.

The equipment we use produces high-quality images and much lower doses of radiation than traditional film X-ray equipment. We can also take X-ray images, save them as digital files, and send them out for board-certified specialist review.

Ultrasound (Crossville only)

Along with laboratory testing and X-rays, our Crossville hospital location also offers ultrasound imaging. This tool is preferred in cases where we need to view the heart or abdominal organs in detail, and in real-time. Ultrasound can show us how the organs are functioning, along with their size, shape, and texture.
