Our Mission is to provide the highest standard of veterinary care through preventative medicine and surgery, to be committed to continuously improving staff and client education and to be dedicated in meeting and surpassing you and your pet’s needs and expectations.
Luke 9:2 And he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.
One part of comprehensive preventative care is having a physical exam on a regular basis, no matter what age your pet may be. It’s simple and cost effective. Detecting changes or signs of disease early on is the key to a healthy pet.
Pets age five to seven years for every one of ours, making semi-annual and yearly physicals even more necessary than our own. Therefore, we strongly recommend annual immunizations and semi-annual wellness examinations to ensure your pet receives the best preventative medicine and that any problems with their health can be addressed early. Wellness exams include heartworm and internal parasite screening, our veterinarian may also recommend a blood profile, urinalysis, and electrocardiogram to monitor your loved one’s health.
We offer routine vaccines for cats and dogs. Our doctors determine which vaccinations are needed based on their experience and knowledge, as well as your pet’s individual needs, life-stage, and lifestyle. Best Friends follows CAPC, AAHA and AVMA guidelines on recommended small animal immunization protocols for living in our region.
Flea, Tick & Heartworm Prevention
A part of ensuring your pet’s good health is giving a monthly flea and heartworm preventative. We all know fleas can be a nuisance, however, once ingested they can also cause tapeworms in your pet. Because heartworms are contracted from the bite of a mosquito, both cats and dogs, indoor and outdoor, are at risk for contracting heartworms. We live in a Tick region and should protect our pets from ticks that could transmit possible life threatening tick borne diseases. Our doctors can recommend the best preventative for your pet based on your pet’s lifestyle.
X-Rays play an important role in diagnosing many common conditions. Our state-of-the-art Digital Radiology unit allows us to take radiographs and interpret them in a short amount of time. In addition, we can send these images digitally to a Veterinary Specialist for interpretation as needed.
Having a complete laboratory in our hospital allows us to get quick results and start treating patients as soon as possible. We are able to complete blood chemistries, urine testing, fecal/parasite examination and much more. We also maintain good relationships with outside laboratories should more in-depth testing be required.
Your pet is in good hands with our friendly staff at Best Friends Veterinary Hospital. Our veterinarians offer a wide range of services, including: Pet Exam Services, X-Ray and Ultrasound Imaging, Vaccinations, De-Worming, Pest/Parasite Prevention, Microchipping, Spay/Neuter Surgery, General Pet Surgery, Dental Care, Hospitalizations and Certificates.
